Dear Friend,
Spring is finally here. We are entering the 2nd quarter of the year. I pray the last 31 days have showed you favor and grace. As we enter the month of April, the forecast may predict an influx of rain and storms. We know the saying, "April showers bring May flowers". I'd like to believe that this applies largely to our spiritual lives as well as the vegetation of the Earth. Now, spiritual "showers" and hardship are not limited to the 4th month of the Western calendar. Nor is it guaranteed that the month to follow with blossom with answered prayers, bountiful blessings and anticipated opportunities. What it means is regardless of the forecast,we serve a faithful God. One who's timing is perfect; more accurate than any intricate scientific calculation created by man. It means that even when we can't see beyond rain drops and it's impossible to feel anything except the wetness of the weather, there's someone larger than our being controlling the climate. Could it be that we are in the perfect environment for growth?
Then the Lord will send rain on your land at the right time. He'll send rain in the fall and in the spring. You will be able to gather your grain. You will also be able to make olive oil and fresh wine. He'll provide grass in the fields for cattle. You will have plenty to eat.
Deuteronomy 11:14-15
After many showers, storms, hurricanes and the like, I have developed a mantra to remind me that after the rain appears a rainbow of God's promises. Whenever I am faced with adversity on the job, in my relationship, while driving on the interstate (you know what I mean) I speak the words "pray, praise and positivity". I pray a short prayer and give praises to my Father for allowing me to live in the current moment. Lastly, I proclaim positive thoughts aloud into the atmosphere. I do this as an active reminder about who God is and who I am to Him. I challenge you to speak purpose and positivity into every situation and storm. Remind yourself of who He is and who you are to Him-everyday, every month. That cold, wet rain you feel? That overcast before the storm? Feel it. See it, Remember it. For every rainy season eventually comes a season of blooming.
