Tea for your soul

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah."

Grace

Dear Lord,
I pray for every sister that is afraid to walk in your gracious light. I pray that whatever shadows are casting over her, you remove and let your light shine through her. Let her recognize that her dwelling place is in the favor of your kingdom. Allow her to reap fruit in dry places. May she seek you always no matter the circumstances in her life. Build in her a soul that is impenetrable to the weapons of this world.
Amen

Perseverance

Dear Lord,
I want to thank you. Thank you for every sister reading this publication. Lord, I want you to pour into her your power. A power that only you can provide. A power that allows her to push through to the other side of whatever circumstance she may be facing. Lord give her an “in spite of” strength, give her an open mind that she may be filled with wisdom as she walks through this experience. Lastly, Father grant her a heart filled with joy, for her soul knows the will of her life is anchored in your promises.
Amen

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in truth.

1 Corinthians 13:6

Have you ever had someone tell you, "I only lied to you because I love you"? Have you ever hid the truth from someone to "protect them"? Perhaps you told a "little white lie" out of consideration for the emotional toll the entire truth may have on someone you care about. Regardless of what side of the situation you're on, Paul tells us this type of behavior is delighting in evil. Earlier in the chapter it is stated that love is kind. Love is not self-seeking. When we lie to someone out of "good intentions", it's not about consideration for the other person at all. In fact, it's all about us. It stems from a place in our heart that is rooted in fear, guilt, shame, embarrassment and several other emotions that we use to support our logic.

Paul goes on to say that love rejoices in truth. Now this doesn't mean when telling the truth about something we should neglect to have tact or empathy in regards to delivery. What it means is that we should be happy in our decision to tell the truth. Find pleasure in being honest. Paul is informing the people of Corinth that love does not find joy in practicing evil. 1 Peter 3:14 says, "Suppose you suffer for doing what is right. Then you will be blessed". As humans we tend to become more concerned about the consequences in the physical realm that we miss the opportunities of being blessed in the spiritual realm. It's instinctive to want to avoid suffering in every possible way. However, that's not love. Love walks selflessly in truth. Love would rather please the Father than protect the flesh. The only truth we can walk in is our own. Reflect on the times you failed to be honest with someone. Consider approaching them with the truth. Think about how you would feel if someone who claims to LOVE you delighted themselves in telling half-truths or neglecting to tell the truth at all. Remember how you feel in that moment the next time you are tempted to be dishonest.
